Marvelous Dingpu

Tu, Ren-Jun

Wow! Time flies like an arrow. The 2017 Cyberfair is coming! Now, I am a sixth grader. I participated in this project based on my past experiences of conducting a website and joining various activities.

The topic was focused on Dingpu MRT Station. All of us were very interested in this topic proposed by Miss Chen because we were familiar with our living area. To complete this project, we interviewed the deputy station master of Dingpu MRT Station, the curator of ATOP Time Arts Pavilion, the curator of Tucheng Family Library Branch, the deputy director of Yongfu Temple and so forth. Besides, we not only discussed our project regularly but also drew mind maps and designed our team Logo in the art classroom every Thursday morning. We solved problems together and established a good relationship among us.

We usually conducted interviews on Wednesday afternoons. Before the interview, we had prepared questions to ask and tasted local delicacies. For example, we had the Hai Gang goose, the Xiang Hao Taiwanese chicken leg bento, the GuiZhuyuan Roast Chicken Restaurant, and the industrial zone black vinegar noodles. Also, we visited many places such as Dingpu MRT Station, Nougat Creativity Museum, ATOP Time Arts Pavilion, Ting Hsin Park and so on. After eating so much food and visiting so many places, we worked hard to put what we experienced in words.  

In addition, we learned how to use "XMind" and "Word" to construct our website.

Our team seemed like a big family. We helped one another and established a good relationship with team members. We were thankful to Miss Xue who taught us how to draw awesome pictures. Besides, we were also thankful to Miss Chen who gave us a lot of useful suggestions. Most importantly, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mr. Tu for his continuous accompanying and thoughtful guidance. He helped us solve numerous problems and gave us constant support and encouragement.

I improved and learned a lot from the Cyberfair project. I hope all's well that ends well!

Jiang, Ting-Wei

This was my second time to participate in the Cyberfair. All of us were in favor of the topic, "Dingpu MRT Station", which was proposed by Miss Chen.  

During the project, we interviewed the deputy station master of MRT Dingpu Station, the curator of Tucheng Family Library Branch, and the deputy director of Youngfu Temple. We also visited the ATOP Time Arts Pavilion and Nougat Creativity Museum, and tasted delicious food in Dingpu. Because we participated in the Cyberfair project before, we completed the tasks with ease. I believed that we would get good results!

Kang, Rui-En

"Are you kidding? Will I participate in the Cyberfair project?" I was astonished by the news last year. However, I looked forward to 2017 Cyberfair. I could finish multiple tasks based on my previous experiences. This year, we chose a different topic called "Marvelous Dingpu." We were divided into three groups, including the culture group, the family group, and the gourmet group.

 The culture group introduced many scenic spots in Dingpu, such as Butterfly Pathway and Shanxi Temple. The gourmet group introduced some delicacies, such as Yang Pot Stickers and Guizhuyuan Roast Chicken Restaurant. As for the family group, Cheng-Chen and I introduced many places, such as Tucheng Family Library Branch, Nougat Creativity Museum and so on. We visited these places on Wednesday afternoons. Although we could not go home early to finish our homework, we learned a lot and had a good time. Besides, we also designed our tour map on Thursday mornings and made "Dingpu Monopoly Game" at our school's playground. Moreover, the "Dingpu Voice"recorded by Cheng-Chen and Ting-Wei was broadcasted during lunchtime. We were so excited about hearing their voice on air!

I learned a lot during the Cyberfair project. I made good progress in my drawing and writing skills. Now, I was not a shy and unconfident girl anymore. I was so proud of myself!

We had almost finished our Cyberfair project this year. Could I participate in the project next time? I was not sure because I would graduate from Dingpu Elementary School in June. Also, I was thankful to my teachers and team members. I believed that we could have good results this time!

Lin, Cheng-Chen

This was my second time taking part in the Cyberfair project. Unlike last year, I was very familiar with the process of the Cyberfair project and completed my work quickly and smoothly this year.

We chose "Marvelous Dingpu" as our project topic because we would like to introduce some special places around the recently-built MRT Dingpu Station. For example, the ATOP Time Arts Pavilion was the first time arts pavilion in Taiwan. Besides, there were so many delicacies in Dingpu, such as the Hai Gang Goose, the Xiang Hao Taiwanese Chicken Leg Bento, and the Industrial Zone Black Vinegar Noodles. All of them were cheap and tasty! Furthermore, the Tucheng Family Library Branch was a good place with a variety of children books. The collection of comic books was the largest one among all the libraries in New Taipei City. After visiting these places, we drew mind maps and transcribed recorded interviews. We learned a lot from the Cyberfair project.

This website was the fruit of our efforts. I believed that we would win the championship this time!

Jian, Yong-Pin

When I became a sixth grader, I felt very upset because I thought the Cyberfair would not be held anymore. However, when I heard that I could participate in the Cyberfair project this year, I had mixed feelings. I had to prepare for the track and field competition and the Cyberfair project at the same time.  

This year, our project topic was "Marvelous Dingpu."  I loved the topic very much since I did not know the famous places and tasty delicacies around MRT Dingpu Station. Through this project, I realized the local features and the scenic spots in Dingpu. I also acquired a lot of knowledge and understood the importance of teamwork.

Among all the visits, I loved the ATOP Time Arts Pavilion the best because I could design my own clock. Also, we interviewed the deputy station master of MRT Dingpu Station this time. He told us many things about the station. I learned a lot from these activities.

Zheng, Yong-Jie

I was glad to join the Cyberfair project this year. The topic was "Marvelous Dingpu,"  which introduced the famous places and delicacies in Dingpu area. I had a sense of achievement since we had almost finished our website.

After participating in the project, I improved my typing speed and the Internet searching skills. Besides, I also knew the local features of Dingpu better. The lunch break was very important for us to discuss our project. Although feeling tired, we gained a lot of from the meaningful activity.
